AssetRipper 1.3.12 is a cross-platform GUI utility designed to extract, inspect and convert Unity engine assets, asset bundles and serialized files back into editable project formats. Originally created to help developers recover lost source material from compiled games or applications, the tool parses proprietary Unity data structures and outputs standard .unitypackage, FBX, PNG, TXT and other readable assets that can be reopened in the Unity Editor. Typical use cases include reverse-engineering student projects when the original folder is missing, migrating legacy content from abandoned builds, studying third-party mechanics by examining recovered scripts and shaders, or simply extracting textures, audio clips, 3-D models and animation clips for archiving or modding purposes. The program supports every Unity release from 3.5 through 2023 LTS, handles both mono and IL2CPP runtimes, and automatically reconstructs the original hierarchy, naming conventions and meta-data so that re-imported files behave identically to the originals. A built-in search filter, progress log and parallel extraction queue let users process thousands of files at once, while optional YAML or JSON export modes provide human-readable dumps for version-control comparison. Since its first public build, the open-source project has advanced through 34 numbered versions, incrementally adding support for new Unity classes, improving Sprite-atlas and Terrain-data fidelity, and reducing memory consumption for large mobile bundles. AssetRipper is available for free on get.nero.com, where downloads are supplied through trusted Windows package sources such as winget, always serving the latest build and enabling batch installation alongside multiple other applications.
